It was a cloudy morning, woke up at 4 am, praying that the clouds would part and give us a glimpse of the eclipsed sun. Was cursing myself for not going to exotic places like Taregana or Varanasi. But then a few of us had decided that India Gate was the place to be. SO what if we got only 85 % of the eclipse.
So there we were, and here is the result........
Spring flowers in Delhi....
The streets of Delhi and roundabouts are teeming with the flowers of spring... coupled with the riotous cries of birds, there is a heavenly look when one walks these roads. 
A little amount of time spent at Vijay Chowk, yielded a variety of flowers for the avid photographers.
Pratiba (a fellow photographer), and me had a lot of fun clicking away to glory, and did so in all contorted poses.... much to the amusement of the security forces who were saturated in the area...
The sidewalks abounded with yellow poppies and the parks around were lined with loads of dahlias in all colours...
The afternoon sun filtering through the petals added an ethereal glow to the whole milieu. 
Nature is so beautiful that even leaves that are dying with the changing seasons have so much beauty and art embedded in them. I was just walking down a path in the Delhi zoo, and spotted this bunch at the end of a branch and the late afternoon sun had coloured it a burnished amber, and it was so eye-catching, that I could not avoid clicking this for posterity.
But I guess even the best photographs, cannot equal to the actual beauty that was perceived that afternoon......
